CBT stands for Computer Based-Test. These kinds of tests are administered using digital devices (e.g. Computer).

There had been a public outcry over the conduct, authenticity and reliability of public examinations in Nigeria. In response to these complaints, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) introduced a full scale computer-based test (CBT) in the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to eliminate examination malpractice and to facilitate examination registration and prompt release of result.

JAMB CBT centres are fully equipped locations with the necessary facilities to conduct UTME examination, including computer systems, internet connectivity, and a conducive environment. These centres are designated by JAMB to conduct the computer-based examination.

JAMB sets a general minimum cut-off mark each year, typically around 140-180 for universities. However, each university sets its own departmental cut-off which is usually higher. Competitive courses like Medicine, Law, and Engineering often require 250+ to be considered for admission.

JAMB UTME consists of 4 subjects with the following number of questions:

• Use of English: 60 questions (compulsory for all candidates)
• Three other subjects: 40 questions each

That gives a total of 180 questions to be answered within the allotted time.

The JAMB UTME exam lasts 2 hours (120 minutes) in total. All 4 subjects are tested within this single sitting. Time management is critical - practising with timed mock exams on Green Bridge CBT can help you build speed and confidence.

Yes, JAMB allows candidates to correct or change their subject combination through the JAMB portal during the correction window. A correction fee applies. Visit the official JAMB website for the current correction period and fee schedule.

The West African Examinations Council is an examination board established by law to determine the examinations required in the public interest in the English-speaking West African countries, to conduct the examinations and to award certificates comparable to those of equivalent examining authorities internationally.

In Nigeria, there are alternatives to this Exam (NECO and NABTEB), but for some reasons, most student prefer sitting for WAEC over the others.

Most Universities in Nigeria expect students to have a minimum of 'Credit (C6)' in at least 5 core subjects relevanet to the higher institution admission they are are seeking.

WAEC syllabus contains all the list of topics candidates are expected to have covered to a reasonable extent before sitting for the exam. Questions are set based on this syllabus.

WAEC SSCE results do not expire - the certificate is valid for life. However, for JAMB registration purposes, results must be from an exam sitting that JAMB accepts for the current admission year. Some universities may also have their own policies on the age of results they accept.

NECO SSCE is primarily recognised within Nigeria. However, some institutions outside Nigeria may accept NECO results on a case-by-case basis, depending on their admission requirements. For international study, WAEC SSCE or IGCSE qualifications are more widely recognised. Check with the specific institution you are applying to.

NECO uses grades A1 to F9, similar to WAEC. A1 is the highest grade (Distinction) and F9 is the lowest (Fail). A credit pass is C6 or better. Most universities require a minimum of five credits including English and Mathematics.

On the web: On the Learn page, use the qualification pills (SSCE / IGCSE) at the top of the subject grid to filter content by qualification. Your selection is remembered for future visits. You can also access dedicated pages for SSCE and IGCSE content directly.

On the mobile app: Tap the Profile Icon () on the top right corner, then select Study Programme. This switches you to the qualification and exam board you are interested in.

Every Green Bridge resource begins with the published specification for the qualification. We model the learning objectives, tiers, command words, paper structure and mark distribution before any content is created, so every resource can be traced back to the exact part of the qualification it is designed to teach or assess.

Candidate material then passes automated structural and consistency checks across the whole library: that an answer exists and is singular, that the item maps to a real objective, that mark totals reconcile, that references resolve, and that a paper's composition matches the board's published structure. These run across every resource rather than a sample. What they cannot settle is whether a question is a good question, which is a judgement a teacher makes rather than something software decides.

We distinguish clearly between genuine past examination questions and Green Bridge-created mock and revision questions. For WAEC, JAMB and NECO we hold real past papers. For IGCSE qualifications the papers are authored by us to the published specification and labelled as mock or revision material.

Students can report anything they believe is wrong from inside the product. Flagged material is investigated, corrected and re-checked, and a fix reaches every student rather than only the one who reported it.

IGCSE stands for International General Certificate of Secondary Education. It is an internationally recognised qualification for students typically aged 14-16. The IGCSE is offered by multiple examination boards including Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, and OxfordAQA, each under slightly different names.

GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) is the qualification taken by students in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. IGCSE (International GCSE) is the international equivalent, designed for students worldwide. Both are broadly equivalent in academic level, but IGCSE syllabuses are designed with an international perspective and are available in more countries.

IGCSE exams are typically taken by students aged 14-16 (Year 10-11 or equivalent). However, there is no strict age requirement - students of any age can sit for IGCSE examinations through registered centres.

Most students take between 5 and 10 IGCSE subjects. The exact number depends on your school's requirements and the university entry requirements for your intended course. A minimum of 5 subjects is generally recommended, including English and Mathematics.

Yes. IGCSE qualifications are widely recognised by universities and employers worldwide. They are accepted as entry qualifications by universities in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and many other countries. IGCSEs are also valued as preparation for A-Levels, IB, and other pre-university programmes.

Cambridge IGCSE uses grades A* to G, where A* is the highest. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE uses grades 9 to 1, where 9 is the highest. Both systems indicate a pass at grade C/4 or above. Universities typically look for grades A*-C (or 9-4) in required subjects.

Yes. Many Nigerian universities accept Cambridge IGCSE, Pearson Edexcel, and OxfordAQA International GCSE results for admission, particularly for students who did not sit for WAEC or NECO. Requirements vary by university and course - check with the admissions office of your target institution. You may still need JAMB UTME for most Nigerian universities.

Cambridge IGCSE is the world's most popular international qualification for 14-16 year olds, offered by Cambridge Assessment International Education (formerly CIE). It is available in over 70 subjects and is taken in over 150 countries. Cambridge IGCSE develops learner knowledge, understanding, and skills in subject content, applying knowledge to new situations, and analytical thinking.

Green Bridge CBT covers 40+ Cambridge IGCSE subjects with lesson notes, exam question practice, flashcards, mind maps, and audio lessons. Visit the Cambridge IGCSE page to see all available subjects.

Yes. Green Bridge CBT provides extensive Cambridge IGCSE past paper practice with detailed explanations for every answer. Papers are organised by subject, paper type, and exam session to help you focus your revision effectively.

Cambridge IGCSE exams are held in two main sessions: May/June and October/November. The May/June session is the larger of the two. Some subjects also have a March session available in selected countries. Your school or examination centre will confirm the exact dates.

Some Cambridge IGCSE subjects offer Core and Extended curriculum options. Core covers grades C-G and provides a solid foundation. Extended covers the full grade range A*-G and includes more challenging content. Students aiming for higher grades should take the Extended papers. Your teacher will advise which tier is appropriate for you.

Private candidates can register for Cambridge IGCSE through approved Cambridge examination centres. You do not need to be enrolled in a school. Contact a Cambridge-registered centre in your area to enquire about registration deadlines, fees, and available subjects. A list of centres is available on the Cambridge International website.

Each Cambridge IGCSE subject has a unique 4-digit syllabus code (e.g. Mathematics is 0580, Biology is 0610, English as a Second Language is 0510). The code identifies the specific syllabus and is used for registration and results. Some subjects have multiple codes for different variants.

Pearson Edexcel International GCSE is an internationally recognised qualification equivalent to the UK GCSE. It is designed for international schools and offers a broad, flexible curriculum. Pearson Edexcel uses the grade 9-1 grading scale, matching the UK GCSE system.

Both are internationally recognised qualifications at the same academic level. Key differences include: Pearson Edexcel uses the 9-1 grading scale while Cambridge uses A*-G; exam structures and paper formats differ by subject; and syllabus content varies slightly. Both are widely accepted by universities worldwide.

Yes. Green Bridge CBT provides study materials for Pearson Edexcel International GCSE subjects including lesson notes, practice questions, flashcards, and mind maps. Visit the Pearson Edexcel page to explore available subjects.

OxfordAQA International GCSE is an international qualification offered by OxfordAQA International Examinations, a partnership between Oxford University Press and AQA. It is designed for international schools and uses the 9-1 grading scale.

Yes. Green Bridge CBT provides study materials for OxfordAQA International GCSE subjects. Visit the OxfordAQA page to explore available subjects and learning resources.
